Welcome to the Long Yang Club of Los Angeles, a nonprofit social support group for gay Asians and their friends in the Greater Los Angeles area. LYCLA is a member chapter of Long Yang Club International, the world's largest network of gay Asian/non-Asian groups. Our intention is to promote friendship between Asians and non-Asians through social events.
LYCLA is on Facebook. If you live within driving distance of Los Angeles, you are welcome to join up. It is a great way to get to know new friends but is meant to be a complement to real life events. Search for Long Yang Club of Los Angeles.

The first Long Yang Club was founded in London in 1983 and is now the world's largest gay "East-West" group. From this beginning, the Long Yang Club now encompasses no less than 35 local groups or 'Chapters' located in cities in 9 different countries spanning 4 continents. It is truly a "global village". All Chapters are members of the umbrella body Long Yang Club International ("LYCI"). Membership in any Chapter is honored by all the other Chapters around the world. Each Chapter is independently managed, but all share the same "family" name and the same logo. This logo is a "two hands friendship" design. It is actually a stylized but distinctive version of the "Yin Yang" concept. |

did you know? Long Yang was a handsome youth, born in China around 260 BC. He became the favorite of Anxi, a ruler of the Wei kingdom. Their relationship is recorded in the Annals of the Warring Period, and celebrated in a lovely poem by Ruan Ji (210-263 AD). You can read about the story behind the name, written by a member of our Boston chapter. It is definitely a worthwhile read. |
